I'd just let the friendship be and not try to move it forward that way. Just because he's making jokes etc could mean he's just playing or comfortable in his skin (str8). Sometimes we tend to read more into things than it needs to be. That's not to say that you couldn't be right but just the playing doesn't make him dl or want to get down like that. You're playing a game of crap...50 percent he may be and 50 percent he may not be. Are you willing to risk the result if you're wrong. How would that affect your friendship? Don't rush it.
