My people, my people

Black people annoy me at times. Why do we waste valuable time arguing over petty things, like what term we should us to call ourselves?! What difference does it make!? The same so called conscious men and women are doing absolutely nothing for the black community, other than further dividing us. These fake sisters are the same ones who cry when a black man marries a light skinned black woman. These phony brothers have more baby mommas than the entire 2 Live Crew! Why is the community silent when it comes to grown men having sex with our little girls? Where are the militant black men and strong sisters when you need them? Why aren’t the conscious enlightening the so-called ignorant masses, instead of steady looking down on them? Have they forgotten their roots and where they’ve come from?

You're American now. It is important to know exactly where you came from. We all came from somewhere. But that hyphen people between their origin & American is dividing us is at it is. We need to educate our young men and women how to live a responsible life. A Christian life as they say. And you ask where are people are at when it comes to confronting the ignorant masses, well stand up brother and speak. Stop this color bullshit! You live here not there.

Black white green pink - ALL people annoy me when they are simple minded and ignorant - this isn't a trait solely in the balck community - everybody - every race, culture, nationaility has their issues - we are all human and as such have flaws - If I had money I'd go live on my own private island so I wouldn't have to deal with the stupidity... to the author - some people don't have any roots to remember and you need to stop condeming "your people" - you could have made this a positive uplifting post but you chose to point out negativity which according to your own comments is part of the problem...

The issue that I have with this post is the same issue I have with African American people in general. We are so quick to adapt to other people's culture by donning colored contacts, changing the texture of our hair, dating outside of our race, etc, and just as quick to forget our own. Whether you choose to ignore who you are and where you came from, you cannot deny it. You choose to call yourself Black, fine. Except, I've never seen a true to color "Black" man and chances are, you haven't either. But a quick glance in the mirror will help you acknowledge that inconsistency, unless black looks like brown now. Get a grip, pick up a book, and learn your history. Then build a legacy of intelligent African Americans by passing on that knowledge to those that don't know. That's how you enlighten! This has been a public service announcement for all of the "Black" people out there.
