FAGGOT=NIGGER - They Both Hurt

First let me say that I am a white male and I take offence how people come to this site and throw the word FAG around so freely. The word "FAG is a hate term, people would call people that just before they would kill them or tie the to a car and drang them to death. The word "FAG" would be used just before a group of men would beat the shit out of two gay men walking down the street.

Just like "NIGGER" would be yelled while they where hanging and beating black men and raping their women. You take offence when white people call you "NIGERS" but then you call yoursleves "NIGGERS". Whats up my NIGGER? You my "NIGGER".

Please stop using the word "FAG" that's a hate term and very insensative. I don't think you know how much it hurts a gay person when they hear that word. I think it hurt as much as some white person calling you a "NIGGER".

White people have been calling Black people niggers for several centuries. There comes a time in your life where you grow up and let insults roll off your back and chaulk it up to ignorance - especially online. By calling ourselves NIGGA - not Nigger, we take the power from the word and use it in our vernacular as a term of endearment. This is a blog site and people are free to say whatever they want. Especially if the confession is about someone engaging in stupid, nasty, or deplorable gay behavior. Im sure there are sites calling us all kinds of niggers all over the net - but we dont go to those sites! If you dont like it, dont come to this site anymore. Is nigger the only other hate term you could have used as a reference? Do you call Black people niggers?

I think you just missed the whole point. I agree with our white brother. We change people through education and I think he has made a great point. I am a black man and maybe I am older then you. But, when I hear the word Nigger or Nigga, it still hurt very deeply. You can never take the sting out or power out of that word. Also, as being a black man who is gay, I feel the same pain when I here people calling people fagots, dykes, batty boys and deplorable gay behavior.

Just accept that the world is full of hateful people and THEY are the ones with the real issues. Just be thankful their hateful mouths identify them straight up.

I am 22 years old and I love rap, but after just looking at that video on abolishthenword.com I will never use the N word again. Thanks for the education this morning, I am sitting here in tears. WOW, I heard Jay Z and Oprah have discussion the other day on her show. I felt the same way Jay Z until now, I can really feel the pain of such hate. The word is still powerful and by changing a few letters don't change that.

Progress effects change - there's been no noteable progress in race relations in this country since the 60's... how could there be when half the country refuses to believe there are issues and the other half blames all the issues on slavery.

I am bothered personally by people that use the "N" word in any forum. I just don't think you can ever take the power out of the word. When I hear people say that I want to slap the taste out of their mouth and I am not joking.

Yeah name calling sucks. Its hard to change peoples mind. Thats something artist need to change. If artist (singer, actors, writers..so on) change the meaning of a word then it will catch on to people. And rappers should stop using the word n-word and people will stop using it. This can happen with any word.

Honestly i believe faggot is the new "N" word, i will be the first one to say that, yes, homosexuals have it hard...but not as hard as blacks had it in the past. Still, nowadays we gays have it rough especially when the media attacks us. And, yes, by saying "no homo" in songs is an attack. It is the same as me saying a racial sterotype against black people and then saying "no black".
We as a nation should end all the hateful speeches we use today because it is plain ignorance. We should not only move to abolish the "N" word but all hateful words and sayings. "Fudge Packer" hurts just as much as "Porch Monkey". And "deplorable gay behavior" is hurtful too.
Just remember gays may have not have been slaves but we have been lynched just as much and we have hurt just much. Our saving grace is we can hide who we are....
End the hate, and end the ignorance!
